Is it a robot making the calls?

Mostly, yes, and it says so. The first thing it says on every call is that it’s an automated caller from Proxling. When a call needs a human touch, a person at Proxling makes it, and the answer is signed with their name.

What does it tell the places it calls about me?

Nothing, unless you say so. Your name and number only go to a place after you reply to say yes, like HOLD 1, and it tells you before it does.

Do I need a smartphone?

No. Any phone that can send a text works. The answer comes as a text; the link to the full answer is there if you want the detail.

Does it record my calls or keep my letters?

Calls are never recorded; it keeps a short written note of each answer for 30 days. Photos of letters are deleted after 30 days, and only your household can see them. What it keeps, and for how long.

How do I stop it?

Reply STOP. Every text stops at once, and nothing more is charged.
